This is an extremely special piece, directly from our archive. Once in a while we sell off a piece or two in order to fund other projects, or if we get a duplicate.

This is the earliest “Pre-Kara Koram” down Parka from Eddie Bauer that we have ever had. This early 1950’s pattern features alpaca wool hand warming pockets, OD adjustable strings, the famous Eddie Bauer “Blizzard Proof” tag (instead of the later more common Kara koram tags), and a beautiful antique CROWN zipper.

Eddie Bauer’s KaraKoram Parka is a holy grail amount vintage collectors/ designers/ enthusiasts (for obvious reasons). This is an even earlier 1950’s example of that famous arctic down Parka design, in the rarest color; a beautiful vibrant vintage Red. The red version of this famous parka was commonly used by USARP scientists in Antarctica, as well as by some members of the 1953 American Karakoram expedition (both pictured)

This parka is also in stunning near mint condition with all of it’s original buttons and knits perfectly intact, and the down filling is as puffy and full as when it was purchased new.

These parkas remain one of the most requested items we feature, and are incredibly hard to find.

This is a very thick, very warm parka that was made for arctic conditions. It fits like a size Medium to Large
measurements:
pit to pit
shoulder to shoulder
shoulder to cuff
shoulder to bottom
