1950's British Grenfell Cloth Belted Olive Windproof Field Jacket.
This design is just lovely and is a wonderful reminder of why we love vintage British outerwear. Exceptional 1950s windproof smock made from gorgeous and incredibly expensive Grenfell Cloth—a densely woven cotton gabardine engineered in the UK by famed explorer Dr. Wilfred Grenfell for extreme weather performance. Originally developed for polar expeditions and alpine sport, the material is prized for its wind resistance and breathability, as well as it’s luxurious Ventile-like feel.
Classic belted field jacket cut with a three-pocket layout: single chest pocket and two large button-flap utility pockets for gear or travel essentials. Sturdy stitched belt cinches the waist for shape and weather protection. Unlined interior keeps things lightweight and packable with some very unique inner pocket layouts. A timeless British foul weather pattern that will pair perfectly with anything you can think of.
A truly special piece.
