Survival Red 1960s Eddie Bauer Kara Koram Goose Down Parka Jacket. USARP style
The famous 1950’s Eddie Bauer Kara Koram arctic down Parka, in the rarest color; a beautiful vibrant vintage Red. The red version of this famous parka was commonly used by USARP scientists in Antarctica, as well as by some members of the 1953 American Karakoram expedition (both pictured)
Two large front pockets (with super soft/ warm wool flannel lined hand-warming pockets behind them). String adjustments at the hem, waist, and hood. In good condition with some signs of wear. Some small holes/ stains and a missing button. Incredible old 1953 patch sewn onto the chest. Unsure as to it’s origin/ meaning. I would guess some sort of outdoor/ adventuring club.
These parkas remain one of the most requested items we feature, and are incredibly hard to find.
Original TALON zipper, tag, pull strings, and knits all perfectly intact.
This is a very thick, very warm parka that was made for arctic conditions. Tagged size Large
