One of the rarest US Navy pieces from WW2, the Zip-Front Deck Jacket. Produced for a very short period of time at the beginning of the War before being replaced by the hook-front deck jacket (due to the zippers rusting from salt water, and being difficult to use with big cold-weather gloves on) most surviving examples of this jacket remain firmly locked away in collections and museums.
This piece, although nicely worn, is a beautiful jacket with zipper, knits, and most importantly; the tag intact. There are signs of wear, stains, and holes here and there, as well as multiple field repairs. The wool lining is in great condition, and the jungle clothing shell is perfectly patina’d and broken in. Some moth holes in knits, and zipper has a small tear near bottom but still works. Don’t miss the chance to own this incredible piece of military/ design history.
