1940's 50's British Royal Navy Fearnought Wool Smock

1940's 50's British Royal Navy Fearnought Wool Smock

$0.00

incredibly beautiful/ utilitarian 1950’s Royal Navy design. The FEARNOUGHT off-white wool work smock, designed for general work and labor in cold weather environments. The wool used (which is called fearnought wool) is extremely thick and warm and is more or less waterproof (and also incredibly flame resistant, which is another reason it was used aboard Royal Navy ships)

The elegant design is detailed with an angled rope and toggle throat latch, as well as an adjustable waist rope. Original tag is also intact and perfectly legible.

In addition to the rarity involved with this piece is the great lightly used condition it is in with only small signs of wear, stains and holes (Most white wool garment of this age are completely destroyed and covered in stains).

Approx size Medium or Large (though it is a smock, so it could easily fit a size small to large, depending on how one likes the fit)

pit to pit 25”
shoulder to shoulder (approx, raglan) 20”
shoulder to cuff (approx, raglan) 25”
shoulder to bottom 26”
