Here we have a real treasure. This is the final iteration of the US Navy “Summer” or lightweight cotton windproof flight jackets. What started as a two pocket design (Pictured in the black and white photo), then a three pocket design, ended with this gorgeous four pocket/ shawl collar pattern at the tail end of the War. These went on to be used up until the mid 1950’s by USN Aircrew, and are incredibly hard to find in any condition, but to find a near-mint example is very special indeed.
This jacket represents the true pinnacle of style and class when it comes to vintage Military design. It simply does not get much better than this.
