Ultra rare Experimental US Navy WW2 D-Day Foul Weather Suit. Smock Anorak and Trousers

700.00

A very, very interesting set (Smock and Trousers sold together ideally) here of WW2 origins. It is a rubberized canvas foul weather set that according to our research seems to have been made/ issued specifically for the US Navy on D-Day. Aside from in books this is the only example we have ever seen.

We suspect it was either an experimental or scarcely produced model of the USN foul weather deck suit that changed in design immediately following D-Day, but details are scarce.

Either way, this set is an incredibly rare and well preserved piece of history with beautiful utilitarian design. Some signs of wear, but overall it is crisp, and in great condition.

Stamped size MEDIUM, but largely adjustable for a custom fit.

Smock:
pit to pit 26”
shoulder to shoulder 26”
shoulder to cuff 18” (this smock is made in the British style of having seemingly short sleeves, but very far apart shoulder seams, which in turn makes the sleeves normal length. it is just confusing on paper)
shoulder to bottom 26.5”

Trousers:
across waist 21.5” (adjustable to whatever size is needed)
inseam 13”
inseam 30”
outseam 42.5”
