Ultra Rare 1960's British RAF Ventile Immersion Survival Flight Jacket. Used

An incredibly rare piece of British Royal Air Force history. These beautifully designed jackets are fully constructed out of charcoal gray water/ windproof VENTILE cotton (a very sought after and expensive to produce British fabric that was invented during WW2 as a lightweight miracle fabric to keep downed airmen alive longer).

These jackets feature a short length cut like that of a flight jacket and come complete with adjustable wooden toggles at the hood, chin strap, pen holder pocket on the arm, zipper, amazing looking diagonal pocket flaps on the chest, and even the original tag intact.

Some signs of wear and staining, as well as a few Ventile repairs on the front, but overall a nice used example of one of the rarest jacket designs we have ever featured on this website. Small easily repaired rip on the back. These were originally made as pullover smocks, but they seem to all have been period modified with LIGHTNING zippers (and I mean all the examples we have ever seen! not just the ones we have here).

*Mannequin photos are of a previously sold smock. They are pictured here to give an example of the fit.
