Near Mint 1950's RAF Ventile Extreme Cold Weather Groundcrew Parka. British Royal Air Force

The holy grail, in near MINT condition (only minuscule signs of wear).

This is the 1950's full Ventile RAF parka, one of the rarest and best designed military designs there is. It is constantly referenced and sought after by menswear designers, and for good reason.

Two layers of heavy duty water/ wind proof Ventile, with a thick layer of white wool sandwiched between them, this thing is extremely warm. Complete with coyote fur rimmed hood (that is totally lined with pristine, soft sheepskin fur), and original RAF belt. All strings and wooden toggles are also present and pristine.

You will not find another in this condition.

These parkas fit big, and look best that way. They were made to be worn over a winter uniform. Despite the seemingly huge measurements, the lining adds about 3" all around (so probably 6" to the total chest measurement) as it is quite thick. The mannequin is a chest size 40 for reference.

Tagged size 8 (chest size 39-42) But again, these fit big.
Measurements:

Pit to pit 30.5” (The parka flares out a bit at the pits, like a flight jacket)

Shoulder to shoulder 23.5”

Shoulder to cuff 27”

High point shoulder to hem 45” or 42.5” from shoulder seam to hem
